BP A40 - Review

Located next door to the Park Royal Travelodge on the A40 Western Avenue, the BP petrol station has been in operation for a number of years and is one of the largest in London operated by the petrol giant. Across the road from rival Shell, this BP station offers a full range of products and services and is open 24/7. Of course there's petrol on tap but it also offers free air for your tyres as well as water. A male and female toilet is also on site for those with a need to go while if you are feeling a bit peckish there's the BP Wild Bean Cafe offering a choice of hot drinks and snacks. First impressions count and overall it's a clean looking petrol station, though on occasion it runs out of handwash in the toilet. It's also not one of the cheapest petrol stations in town despite competition from the nearby Shell as well as Esso near North Acton tube station. Prices tend to be on the high side for petrol and on occasion, it is also a penny or two more expensive than another BP station further down the road near Perivale. Staff are generally friendly, though it gets annoying when they ask on more than one occasion if you bought petrol if you come in for anything other than petrol. How many times when they ask "Any petrol" and you say no does it take them to understand you came in not for petrol? Given its size and location, this would have been ideally suited for BP's recent joint venture with Marks and Spencer to offer the retailers range of food and provide a much needed choice of food to buy in Park Royal.
